Looking to get a Kershaw One Ton Folding Knife as a prize for a shooting competition that I holding for my son's scout troop and wanted to know if its any good?

I have never owned one but it seems like a pretty good knife. The kershaw half ton gets a lot more attention, but i think there are some reviews on the one ton on youtube.

I got one. It's a really cool blade. Super thin knife for a framelock, not the blade but the entire thing overall. Solid lockup, good, simple looks, and works well; can't beat it. I say go for it.

I've got one also. It's pretty big, and as was said, very thin. It's hefty, and should be a really nice blade for some heavy use.

I don't have a One Ton, but I have it's little brother the Half Ton. The Half Ton has been a good EDC for me. It's a sturdy little knife.

LOve all 3 of them.. 1/2ton, 3/4ton and 1 ton....Depends on the ages of the kids but but i'd say the 3/4 ton might be best..not to small not to large its just right

I've handled the half ton and am pretty impressed given its level of quality in conjunction with its price. Like most all imported offerings from Kershaw. I know some aren't too terribly pleased with the red handle but I could care less. I do like the G-10 handles a bit better on the one ton. With that being said it costs a bit more to produce them compared to the half and 3/4 tons plasticy "glass reinforced nylon" that I assume it's the same as FRN handles.

They are all great knives for the price you can get all 3 for like 50.00 on Amazon...Great deal give 1st place the one-ton 2nd place the 3/4 ton 3rd half ton..Have other parents pitch in

Which scouts cub scouts boy scouts..if it cub scouts or weblos i'd say half or 3/4 ton would be best..Boy scouts one-ton

Whetrock,

I didn't care for the red Half Ton scales either. I made some wood scales for mine.

The One Ton feels really big in the hand... flat, but big. It's got real heft to it, but it cuts very well. I'd recommend the 3/4 Ton.

Bought a One Ton at a gun show a while back. Got it home and realized I didn't like the way it felt in my hand. Too big, and I have average sized hands. I took it back and traded it for something else.

I'm thinking about getting one of the 3/4 Tons. From what I can gather, it looks like it might be just about perfect.
