Kershaw Outcast ,handle material

Anybody has a Kershaw Outcast?
And how is your experience with the knife and in particular the Santoprene handle.

Is it durable stuff?
Is it more durable than the Kraton on the Cold Steel Trailmaster?

I had a cold steel fixed blade and I have an Outcast and I couldn't tell a difference in the material. Both seem durable but don't get it near a fire hehe!

I have seen pics of Cold Steel (Trailmasters) where the checkering was almost completely worn off .
And that it can happen quite fast too after some intensive use of these knives.
I also heard these Kraton handles of CS sometimes twist around the tang .

Micarta handles like on the Junglas or Grivory on the Beckers aren't prone to this kind of wear..

The feeling of the Santoprene is very soft.
Does it mean it will deteriorate like the soft Kraton on the CS handles?

I have no planning to keep it near fires yet
