Kershaw Outcast

I had a question about the Kershaw Outcast. It looks like a great knife. Kershaw's site says the handle is Santoprene. I was wondering if Santoprenen is similar to Kraton? Also, I assume that this knife is full tang with the molded Santoprene handle completely enveloping the tang of the knife. Is this a correct assumption?

Yes, and yes. It is also similar to the Resiprene of Swamp Rat knives.

I have been useing one for about a year, the handle feels very good in hand.
Well worth the price.

The Outcast handle is double injection molded. The core of the handle (around the tang) is glass filled nylon, and then Santoprene molded over top. If the handle was just Santoprene it would come apart quickly with heavy chopping.

Thanks for reminding me what the knife is called. Outcast. Very comfy handle.
I like mine fine. I just have trouble remembering what its called. Every time I've refered to it in BF, I just called it the big Kershaw chopper.
