Kershaw Outlier, CA legal?

It's listed as assisted, as opposed to automatic, so good to go AFAIK.

Autos cannot have a blade length greater than 2".

Although assisted-opening knives are legal to possess and carry in California, with no limit on blade length under state law (some local limits), I have always advised people to avoid ringed karambits because I believe they could fall under the definition of "metal knuckles", which are illegal.

Here is the statute in California law that defines "metal knuckles"- https://www.leginfo.legislature.ca....aySection.xhtml?sectionNum=16920.&lawCode=PEN

That definition makes no mention of how many fingers are being protected or reinforced. And I've read a few case laws in California where people were arrested and convicted under that statute for possessing things that bore no resemblance to what we would consider classic brass knuckles. Even a kubaton, with no rings whatsoever, just metal rod with a pair of spikes sticking out, has been successfully prosecuted in California under the "metal knuckles" definition.

Each individual can decide for themselves if they think a ringed Karambit meets that statutes definition of "metal knuckles", but I personally wouldn't chance it.

In the past people have made the argument "It only covers one finger. So what about a wedding ring?". My response to that is "A wedding ring isn't attached to a knife that is specifically designed as a WEAPON". In my opinion, those two facts (blade+weapon) greatly increase the chances that the ring portion of a karambit would be considered by cops and prosecutors as a "metal knuckle".

But again, everyone can decide for themselves.

On a side note, not to be hyper-technical, but the swithcblade law in California refers to blades 2" or longer. Here's that statute- https://www.leginfo.legislature.ca....aySection.xhtml?sectionNum=17235.&lawCode=PEN

Both of those links come directly from the official California state legislature website. They are the actual legal statutes, not someone's internet interpretations.
