Do all Kershaws now come in that shrink wrapped hard plastic now instead of the old flag box, or is that just the models that are being sold at Walmart. I know Walmart puts quite a few demands on their vendors.

All of the Kershaw's that I have purchased from online dealers in the last year, have come in boxes. Decent quality boxes at that. Probably just Walmart and other "big box" type stores are using the blister packs.

My latest Kershaws have come in boxes as well. I think that on a strictly retail level the retailers and manufacturers need packaging that allows the consumer to easily view the product, but it has to be tough enough to withstand attempts of thievery while in the store.

By the time we buy from a dealer, we know what we want so appearance and design are not an issue, so a box is fine.

part of it depends on whether or not the store has what would be considered an actual knife department or knife section. the store i work at has the biggest selection of knives around, and we get nothing but boxes. which is good, due to the quantity that we have. if they were all blister packaged, we would never have anywhere to put all of them.

I have quite a few Kershaws and only one came in the blister pack and it was the OD-1 that I bought from someone on e-bay.

Every Kershaw knife I've purchased has come in a box. The blister packs seem to be store specific.
