I just discovered this model, I think I need to find one. Anyone have one? What do you think? And can it be deassisted?

I also can't help but notice how familiar the blade shape is to my Spyderco Southard. The Packrat would make a great EDC alternative.

The packrat has been discontinued and cannot be easily deassisted without drilling a detent hole in the blade yourself.

I have the orange one and I don't carry it all that often. Not sure why, though. Maybe its the shape. People have commented its a wicked blade. Once I upgrade my membership I'll probably sell it on the exchange.

The packrat was around and gone before the southard was even thought of :)

I have a camo one I recieved from Thomas, and I love it. I don't carry it other than maybe around the house a couple times but its nice and light, has a flat ground blade and the handle is very comfy. I might know where there are some in stock...

I also have the orange one but i dont use it. i like the blade shape alot but dont like the liner lock. They shouldve put some kind of grab on it or something i find it harder to close

I love the packrat, one of my top 5 kershaw models. Liked it so much I have the black, orange, and both plain edge and serrated camo versions.
