I just got my brand new kershaw tyrade, with black G10 today, and I love the knife! The only thing that is bugging me about the knife is the fact that on the blade of the knife right by the flipper there is a small dark gray spot of metal, like the color of the D2 on the titanium models, I did not know if this is something that kershaw would fix or just something that I would have to live with. Let me know what you think.

Oh and i know that this would be a lot better thread if it had pictures but I have tried to take a picture of it for the last thirty minutes and could not get a decent picture of it, sorry.

I would just live with it.

But, if it bothers you I'd recommend returning or exchanging it to the place you purchased it from before going to Kershaw.

Well I would but right after I bought it the knife got removed from their website so I emailed them to make sure that they had one, and it turns out I bought their last one.

Well then, I'd recommend sending them an email through their website. Their customer service is generally very fast and responsive.

I think that's all I've got. :D

I didn't know if it would be something that they could fix or not, considering that it was only a limited run, does anyone know if thats something that they could fix?

anyway you could email me a photo. I doubt that kershaw has one to trade you, they would probably be able to give you a credit toward something else. If it isn't too bad I would just trade you mine for yours to help you out, but I would need a photo before making that decision, I have one New in box left.

The blades that the G-10's use were actually made for the titanium Tyrade but got rejected because there was not any/enough contrast between the D2 and the 154CM. The D2 should be considerabley darker than the 154CM. This may be the case in your blade.

Let me make clear that the blade itself was not rejected for any problems, just the lack of contrast.:)

i knew that they were rejected for that reason, mine does not have any contrast on the blade either, there is just one small spot of discoloration

You could just try etching it to improve the color. I did that with mine and it turned out great.

the lack of coloration between the two blade steels is not what i am talking about, there is a small blemish of a different metal back by the flipper then it is opened

Phillip,
That looks great, was that accomplished with a vinegar?
Thanks,
Kevin
