Kershaw Questions

As I said, I am new to the Kershaw world, but find it fascinating. I trust that the Chive and Leek with the Carbon Fiber inserts are discontinued (?) When were they manufactured and are they must have items for a new collection (HA!) Can some of you Kershaw people give me an idea of how you collect, i.e., by model or what. I am looking for some guidance before I make some bad mistakes. What should I concentrate on first? Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi, I collect many, many different models of Kershaw and have since the late 70's. Lately I'm after 1660 Leeks. Kershaw sells approx. 10 models. All the rest that you see on e-bay are contract knives. I have 26 models of leek now and looking for more. The carbon fiber you asked about is contract and discontinued I believe. I have one. They listed for 79.95 & seldom show up on e-bay, but the mother of pearl version is quite common. Hope this helps,John

The best way to collect Kershaws is to go the knife store 2-4 times a month and take home what ever poor little Kershaws tug at your heart strings. In my experience you only break off from the pattern once you are broke or your significant other finds out exactly how many you have. If the latter is the case I suggest that you do what all good addicts do, work harder at hiding your problem and sink deeply into denial.
