I had a post a while ago about jumping on a kershaw ram I found at the local store, I decided not to buy it cause of the price but more so because it was a combo edge.

I watched the G&G Hawk tour and it renewed my interest on the RAM.
Being in Canada, I have limited sources to buy from so I went back to the store and bought the last ram.

My initial impression is that it's very smooth and a flipper design that I really like, the tension build is perfect; other flippers like the onion ikbs are nice but playing with them for hours wears on my index finger, not the RAM. It's a bit bigger then I like for EDC but like light and fun enough that it will complete with my mini grip for pocket time, I wish that the toggle for the lock was a bit more textured but it'll do the job.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase, wished I got it sooner.

It's a pretty cool knife, I love mine!

They're real nice; just not so hot on the serrations. Where did you get those pocket clips?

The ram is awesome, the one I have also is a combo edge. They are getting harder and harder to find, you are lucky you were able to find one at all

I saw one with wooden scales, FLAT plain edge, I would pay good money if available.

all I see are serrated recurve junk.

After EDCing this guy for a day, the mini grip will be back in my pocket.
With smaller hands, closing this one handed is almost impossible, I wish the lock was a bit higher and wasn't so stiff, my thumb are being thrashed. Love the flipper, but the lock is not a joy to actuate.

The bolt action lock button takes a few weeks of use to break in, then it is extremely easy and fun to flip. I wouldn't write it off so fast. Oddly enough mine was smooth as butter after I broke it in but I just had to take it apart and re-oil/tighten the parts, now it's difficult to get back to that smoothness. In any case it's a fantastic knife that does need time to wear in.

I hope so, I'll try EDCing it for a while longer, everything about the knife is great, the lock just makes me yearn for an axis lock.

Something that helps is either lightly sanding the g10 and filing the front and back of the slot to a radius with a round file or using a file to put a couple ridges on the lock button itself. I did both and It made it so much more pleasurable.

I was thinking of ordering the hawk low riding clip, does anybody know how it rides in pocket?

With the low/clip you can't even tell it is in your pocket.! You could wear it to Church and nobody would know you had a Knife on you.**

Some people take off the overlay and take out a spring. Makes unlocking easier :)
