I'm trying something different and have posted a "pictorial review" in the Knife Reviews & Testing - linked -

Kershaw Rainbow Leek - a pictorial review

I have previously reviewed the regular Leek in detail
(with lots of words :D) - linked -
Kershaw/Ken Onion LEEK (pics)

so you can check that out and compare with this pictorial one on the Rainbow Leek.

Please let me know what you think, if this pictorial review works

Rainbow Leek too slippery/slick?
leading to insecure closing due to having to overcome torsion spring tension?

I do not have this problem -
and it has occured to me that perhaps I might be using a different technique to close the knife -

Kershaw Rainbow Leek - a pictorial review

I have the rainbow leek and the regular leek and the rainbow is a little slippy but I don't think it's a big liability. I don't consider them to be on the same league as say benchmade but I'm pleasantly surprized at how my regular leek has handled the workaday tasks I've used it for. My rainbow leek is my "sunday go to meetin' knife. I carry my leeks when I am wearing scrubs and can't really carry beefier knives, I love the slim profile. They are great knives for their niche, which is not chopping down small trees and such. I love both my leeks.

Many thanks for the great comments.

The Rainbow's slipperiness was brought up because a number of concerned posts when I reviewed the plain Leek - and I couldn't figure out why that would be a liability.

Again this might be like opening the blade with the thumb-studs -
if one assumes the knife opens like a liner-lock - and it is "similar" -
then one runs a real risk of cutting the thumb - or find the knife stiff or almost impossible to open
- so there might be the possibility that closing the knife like a regular liner-lock (where there is no spring tension against the blade) -
the slight difference in slipperiness could make a lot of difference.

Perhaps working out different ways of opening and closing the knife safely is a better option.

and I thought that the way I closed the knife might have been different.
