Anyone know the "real" release date?
The last I read, it is September 1.

I also read it will be ZDP-189

I also read it will be D2

Anyone know "the real story"?

Thank you:)

Half the places list it as ZDP, the other half as D2. I wonder why the difference? Wishful thinking???
I love the ZDP:)
D2 is good to!!
I just wanna Rake soon...

What's the scoop on this one. Why the need vs. anything else in the $75-$100 price range. Not knocking it, I seriously want to know the scoop. I am not seeing anything extraordinary on the spec sheet.

I already have everything else in the $75 - $100 price range that I "need"...,
Now I "need" this one:)
Good e-nuff.

Figured that was it. Fair enough.... I don't need a reason to buy a knife other than I want it. I was just wondering if there was something special brewing with this one.

Well, at first it was the ZDP. I like the Kershaw ZDP.
Then found out it was D2
I like the D2 also, so no biggie, but would have rathered ZDP or S110V.
But, the belly on that blade looks like a great cutter..., it just catches my eye...,
You know, some things just appeal to you, and this one does it for me, LOL!
(I sometimes wish none of them did, it would save a lot of $$$)

I'm waiting for this one too. I have been seriously considering signing up for the preorder. It reminds me of a JYD with assisted opening.

The reason I'm looking forward to it, is I'm a Tim Galyean fan and love the junkyard dog composite and he made the Lahar and I have heard good things on it. Also this one is A/O and I don't have a kershaw with and A/O yet.

I think you would also like the Tyrade knives as well.
I have the Lahar, JYD and Tyrade knives (in different dress:)
They are all similar and my favorite of the 3 is the Lahar and it is not even A/O, LOL (I love the A/O with the flipper:)

You may also want to check out some of the Zero Tolerance knives. The 0350 is my favorite (I do not like frame locks, I am a lefty and can convert a liner lock, but to convert a frame lock- yuck, LOL!!

I've been wondering, after reading the very heated discussion on the forum regarding differences in sg2 Junkyard dog's blade width vs. d2 composite jyd's width, Where will the Rake fit in?

From what i get, the sg2 is more of a slicer and the d2 composite is a little more heavy duty, all around knife. Will the Rake be like that?

The Rakes have started to leave the building. Yeah! :)

Look for them at your favorite places.

The RAKE arrived!!!
It is worth the wait:)
This has a belly on it, like a killer whale, LOL!!
I like a recurve knife, as the cutting edge is longer than a straight edge knife, but they are harder to sharped, the Rake has nice, long belly with lots of cutting edge.
At first, it seemed to open slower than some of my other Kershaws, but this is a bigger blade.
A little lube and wearing it in made it open a bit faster.
It is VERY smooth opening and solid as a rock when open, no "wiggle", plus, sharp out of the box.
Anyone even thinking about getting one, don't think about it anymore..., go for it, hope you love it as much as I do (and I have a LOT of knives), but this is one nice blade!!
