Kershaw RAM question

Just ordered mine. I notice on Amazon they have a few different web pages for RAMs, with different sets of reviews, but seem the same.

My question is if they ever came out with multiple versions of the RAM? Or they should all be the same?

I meant besides the black steel and the serrated blades, and the red ones. Difference in type of steel or other material?

Same steel I believe and there was a red snap-on too. If I remember there was a Steel change from 13c26n to 14c28n in the middle of the production.

I think there was a thread about this not too long ago. I will try to look

The steel change is the only thing I know, although there was a guy on here selling one a while back that had "speedsafe" on the blade. Do not know what that was about, as far as I know the RAM was never assisted. It is imo the best flipper I have had from Kershaw, you will love it.

Looks like from inception 13c26n until march 09 then 14c28n until disco. If it has a date on it go by these dates. If there is no date it is 14c28n as kershaw quit putting born on dates on. Nccole you're right never assisted. Hawk law just makes it feel that way. I wish they would make more knives with it. I love it on my ram and mudd.

As the previous posters have stated. The RAM only had changes in steel throughout its production (other than colorations and coatings). You could always check with who you are ordering from to confirm the steel as well. When I bought mine, most places appeared to carry 14c28n steel.

That is what I thought, but his RAM had "speedsafe" on it. Still baffled over it...

I can't understand why the RAM was discontinued. I think I am going to get one more why they are still readily available. The RAM lock is a very close second to the BM Axis lock when it comes to ease of operation and flickability.

+1

I had to take mine apart for a thorough cleaning and was amazed at design and how it all came together.

Was the red version of this a regular production but just harder to find now? Or were they limited when they first released?
