Hi Steve.

Received my RT II today and would like to get one of your low rider clips for it. Kershaw has decided to use 5 mm hole spacing for the clip mounting screws so you will have to drill new holes. I hope this won't present any problems - looks like plenty of G10 and steel liner to tap into. I have attached a picture.

Yeah sorry Fred but that is the standard ZT clip and its not one I do a low rider for. Spacing is just too tight on that one to make a viable clip work out.

Sorry man

Could you drill & tap new holes with a wider spacing?

That is a possibility. Some liners are quite hard if they are stainless. It all depends on what I think after drilling the holes. If they fight a cobalt drill bit too much I may not feel comfortable trying to thread them or one if thats all it takes. I think you know the routine to get it to me though. Just mark where you want it and I'll see what is what.

No problem at all my friend.

Package on the way back Fred.

Thanks my friend. $65 total. I only had to drill one hole to make it work. It has a skelentonized liner in there and it was a bit tricky finding a place to put a hole but I managed. Hope you like it. Anyway, they are both on their way home officially.

The knives and clips arrived yesterday. As usual, a great job. The RT II clip is very nice, perfectly placed, and you have even managed to leave the lanyard hole useable.

Cleaning up the knife with some EEzox, I wiped down the royal blue clip and it turned a beautiful black with a blue tinge. At last, a way to get an (almost) black clip. Don't know how durable/permanent this effect is, but I thought I would pass along my discovery. The picture was taken in bright light; in shade the clip is almost the color of the G10 handle. Might be sending some clips back to you to re-anodize to royal blue.

Never heard of that stuff you used. Well, thats interesting for sure. I may have to track down some of this EEzoz stuff to do some experimenting of my own. Thanks Fred!

Here you go http://www.eezox.com/knife-care.html

I have been using it on my firearms for years. It is a good dry lubricant and one of the best rust preventers I have ever come across. Similar to Tuf-Glide, and may be made by the same people.

The reason I was so surprised is that I had wiped down with EEZOX a denim blue clip you had made for me a few years ago and simply got a slight darkening which went away as the carrier evaporated. This clip disappears against the dark blue chino slacks I am wearing today.
