Any feedback on the Kershaw Onion Scallion would be greatly appreciated.

With a larger handle and blade than the Chive, it's a little easier for me to manipulate. However, the larger blade makes it a bit slower.

Aesthetically, I don't like the textured zytel as well as the chive's stainless handle.

Mine arrived shaving sharp and seems to have adequate edge retention for relatively modest steel.

I have had one about 2 months, and I really like it. It is extremely handy, for either pocket carry or use as a money clip.

Now if I just had some money...

:) :) :) The Scallion is prefect for carrying in the pocket or clipped. I was carrying one and a co-worker who is not a knifenut, saw the knife. He asked me about the knife and if I it was any good. After a short show and tell. He now owns one and it's his EDC. Sharp, you bet. After carrying the knife for two days I asked him if the knife was sharp and he showed me his finger with a bandaid. And with the zytel handle it grips great and holds up well when dropped.

I picked my daughter one up for an X-mas present (she's been wanting a new knife). It seems pretty nice so I might get one for myself.

There is a review over in the KnifeForums review section BTW!

I love it. Bought one a few weeks ago, and cannot put it down. It is just the right size for pocket carry, is very ergonomical, cuts fantastically while it holds its edge, flipper and cam-assist work very slick. Mega knife-nut gusto for $40.

The Scallion is a very slick little knife. The Speed Safe feature is very addictive and works well. My only complaint is that my models came with burrs along the edge. I ordered two Scallions and one Chive and all three came this way, as if the edge was blunted by the spacer or something. It's no big deal as they are relatively easy to sharpen, but I feel that they should have been checked at Kershaw before being shipped out to their distributors.

The Scallion (and the Chive) are great knives. The Scallion has a very natural, comfortable grip for a small knife. My blade came perfectly sharp and lockup is solid. Perhaps my only concern (which is probably mostly unfounded) is that the bar that locks the blade in the closed position only engages the very pointy tip of the blade...I sometimes wonder if the fine tip were to chip off or eventually be sharpened off after some time, the knife would no longer be able to lock closed. But that's really not something to think about unless it actually happens.
Definitely one of the best knife buys out there.

Pretty much agreement on both the Scallion and the Chive.., but I don't really like the visual aesthetics as much on the Scallion. Not that it matters..., I've got 'em both and they are really nice for the $$$$.., I just don't like something about those textured handles on the Scallion...much as DanceswithWolves described.
