hey guys i'm about to buy the Kershaw scamp. and i know it's only like $20 but is it worth it? are there better knives for the money? what do you think?

Get another $20 Kershaw is what I would say. I like it ok, but it is really hard to deploy and the pointy thumbstuds get caught on your pocket. The machined G10 by framelock is awesome and that is what made me buy it, but the functionality as a folder is not too good. Fit and finish and all that was as expected in a Kershaw, but for $20, I think they have better options. I just picked up an Asset and like it better for the $20. Actually, what I would do is spend a bit more and get the Skyline.

You Can File The Stud A Little And That Helps.
You Don't Even Have To File It If You Lube The Pivot.
It's A GREAT Knife, And The Best For $20 IMO.
But The Chill Is Also A Great Knife And You Can Pick Up A One Ton For Around $25.

I did file it, still was not thrilled with it. It stays in my tool box in my garage. I do like to use it, just not carry it in my pocket for edc, so it makes a good tool box knife to have working on my cars. I am also not crazy about the clip, it is not horrible, but not great either. I think I may be a bit picky about clips but Spyderco's wire clip is hands-down the best clip, and nothing else quite compares unfortunately.
