I send my Shallot to Kershaw because the blade was not straight inside the handle when opened. I just got it back, but the blade is exactly the same.

There was no note or nothing. I also asked for some screws, which they did send, although not enough. They did give me a spare pocket clip though. :p

So what do I do?
Send it back again, hoping they do properly read my attached letter this time, (they underlined the bits about the screws but forget most important part about the repair) and pay another €6 for shipping?

They also don't do registration numbers, so when I send it back they don't know I send it in before.

I was kinda hoping a Kershaw employee would give me some advice, or help met out here.

You can easily center the blade on your own.

First loosen up the pivot screw all the way and then press the blade all the way to the opposite side of where it is off-centered. Then tighten back up the screw to normal tightness and it should center up. Most frame-lock knives get off centered because the force of the lock pushes the blade to the side, so by pushing the blade back against it, you will center the blade.

Honestly, unless the blade is rubbing against the side and causing any damage to the edge or scratching the side, it doesn't matter if the blade is uncentered.

Sorry about the hassle. But I'm not sure they missed anything. lazerboy2000 is right. This isn't a defect, to have a Shallot blade not *precisely* aligned. I was just sitting here flicking mine, so I put it under the light and looked at it with a magnifier. There is just too little room between handle slabs for much difference between exactly centered and slightly off-center. After they assured themselves it wan't rubbing, they sent it back as OK.

I did that already, that's why I asked for new screws, the old one where a bit damaged.
The problem seems there is a little play between the hole in the blade and the handlebar that holds the blade, plus the frame lock pushes the blade slightly to one side.

I know it doesn't matter if it is off center unless it is touching the liners or frame. But it matters to me, I bought this knife because it looks damn sexy, and I want a straight blade. :o

Edit.
Actually I haven't tried what you said before but I took apart the whole knife.
I just now did what you said and now the blade is indeed straight.
Thanks a lot.
