I have been searching bladeforums for any info about the all black DLC skyline but could not find any information about how many were made and where they were sold

Can any Skyline collectors chime in?

Companies exist for one thing, to make a profit. If they only made one knife, they would effectively be putting all their eggs in one basket. Making variations on a model based on color or steel may interest a segment of a market that was until then potentially untapped. Some folks are also collectors, and they want every model of a specific knife. You got it right, the fun is in the chase. You can buy a S30V carbon fiber Skyline, at the moment they are on sale.
 
The black dlc was/is only available on the auction site from a guy in Canada. Just do a search. Last time I checked he had a few left and they were decently priced.
 
Any idea on how many were made? No serial numbers on them. Also. This model seems to not get any collector's attention
 
It is exclusive to S&R Knives in toronto, they also have a huge eBay store. They aren't a paid member here but they are great to deal with. I have no idea on the production numbers but they are now discontinued but some are still available on their site.

Saw your thread before. But I read you last post incorrectly. I did already get mine in Toronto. I had no idea they were exclusive to these guys. I had assumed it was a pretty vanilla offering. Now that I know its not, I need to buy mOar. Only 160 is pretty limited. I wonder if Kershaw will ever release it in full production.

PS. Hopefully my Canadian order with blade HQ gets taken care of before the S30VCF sells out
