Kershaw Skyline Edge retention?

Not at all mine stays like a pocket scalpel and is easily re touched up. Course I touch it up once or twice a week but considering how often i use it its not bad..

Never an issue for me, it performs as it should.... Nice edge, quick to touch up and easy to maintain.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Skyline. It Gets razor sharp and holds the edge adequately.

Haven't used my skyline, but I use a Leek in the same steel (14c28) all the time, as well as a few knives in similar steel (13c26) and they all hold their edges quite well for my uses.

As opposed to what? I find 154 and D2 to hold an edge longer, but not much so. It holds its edge longer than my SAK, but not as long as my mini grip. Seems right to me!

I have a RAM in the same steel and it holds a decent edge, better than I thought it would. And it will also get really sharp pretty easily.

Could you have a wire edge that your not removing that folds over when you cut something? After it goes dull on you, use your finger nail to feel for a lip along the very edge. Feel on both sides along the entire length of the blade. Sometimes a wire edge can be barely visible but it will always catch your finger nail instead of the nail sliding off without resistance.

My Skyline is in 13C26 it does what it should in my opinion, cut well for a reasonable amount of time and then resharpen easily.

I've been even more impressed with my OD-1 in 14C28, I think Kershaw runs it harder than the 13C and in my opinion it may be the best stainless I've worked with at balancing edge retention with ease of sharpening.

I prefer carbon steels though and have no experience with high end stainless.

Kershaws 14C28 is most definitely harder in my experience. That's some dandy stuff.

The Skyline is one of my EDC knives and I have no delusions about its steel. It is no S30V or ZDP-189 so edge retention is not not like these 2 steels. It doe however hold an edge longe enough for my EDC uses and does require a regular touch up. But I am not "disappointed" in the performance of the Skyline steel. If you are, then either you didn't research the steel's properties and compare them to others or your expectations are set too high. ;)
