Not much on the TV last night so I grabbed the Skyline and went to work changing a few things. The first was removing some of the spine on the front of the blade. Never liked the shape. Wanted a little more of a point. Finished this up on my Kalamazoo in short order and never heated the blade enough to alter the heat treatment. Constant dips in water. My next change was to add a orange G 10 backspacer. Following this the pocket clip really needed to be made smaller. Back to the belt grinder. Since it was to highly polished I went ahead and acid etched the clip. Now looking at the knife I decided to add some jimping. This was done on a drill press using a cutting disc on a arbor. The last change was removing some of the material on the scale so the thumb stud would be easier for me to deploy. A few hours of work and now it's more personal.

Nice mods, any chance you can take a snap of it close so we could see how it looks where the thumb stud is. I must admit I love my skyline minus how difficult it is to use those thumb studs so I really want to see how your mod looks there. The jimping on the back looks good and so do the other mods, in fact I didn't read your post at first and just looked at the pics and had to double check my skyline because I didn't remember seeing the jimping. I must admit I usually don't care about things like jimping but I think you just made me a little jealous as after seeing it I think the skyline really deserves it.

Filed the angle a little more acute with a half round file. My thumb now get a little lower to the thumb stud. Just did the back part so my thumb would guide to the stud easier.
Pic didn't come out as sharp as I would like.

I too open up the scales on my Skylines. Not so much to get to the stud, but to ease opening of the lock. Love that it is a flipper, and that with little trouble so many configurations can be made.

Looks like a nice subtle mod there that help immensely. I am not sure if I would have noticed it if you didn't point that out.
