How many different variations of the skyline were made by Kershaw? Not including customs.
 
1760 (Regular)
Black G10
Plain blade

1760DAM (Damascus)
Black G10
Damascus blade
Note: Made several years ago. Hard to find. Rumored future run.

1760RD (Red)
Red G10
Plain blade
Note: I believe this was a limited run.

1760RSSO (Snap-on)
Red G10
Plain blade with snap-on logo
Note: Limited run.

1760OR (Orange)
Orange G10
Plane blade
Note: Cabela's in-store exclusive. I've heard you can order over the phone.

1760BRNCKT (Brown)
Light brown G10
DLC blade (diamond light coating)
Note: Limited run.

There have been some prototypes that I don't consider to be variations (mainly because I can't get them). Also, there are some after market G10 scales available. The following links have some pix:

LOL @ powernoodle. Just realized that was you on that thread. Also thanks for the find. Nice collection. Thats where Im trying to get to. Keep me posted if you find anything.

what do you guys think about a bladeforum custom skyline?
we have them make it with the model 1760BF for blade forum...they sell them to us without any box/packaging to save some time and $$ and we get them made up with some jimping and maybe a different steel.

i wonder how many we would have to order to have them do this for us?


i was thinking a blue handle and vg10 blade

great thread. I am a Skyline fan. Just picked up a fixed blade Skyline. Great little knife.

I would if they made them leftie friendly and I wouldnt have to keep pulling out my drill and tap
 
I'd jump on it, if I could get my choice of serial number. :D I don't really care about the steel. I've learned that they all cut. It could be anything from 8cr13mov to S30v for all I care. I bought my father a Skyline for Christmas and I played with it a little. I really liked it, but I still havn't bought myself one. I love how Kershaw makes all these different variations of their knives.

Sounds like a great idea! I believe Thomas has said all someone has to do is order about 500 and they'll do the run. I'd be game for one especially if it was made in blue or purple G10 with a S30V blade.

I think the idea is cool. Would guess at least 600 needs to be ordered. And my guess is it might be a while before this could be possible with the current demand for what Kershaw/ZT is already producing. Could always try to get kershawguy in on this to be the dealer for the order if that needs to happen.
 
I don't think the steel choice would be that big of a deal. I would love to see a premium steel, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if it was the Sandvik. Although I think everyone would agree on Damascus. :)
