For future reference, you could've just replied in your original post to keep it all in one thread, but here's my best answer: entirely different animals. Own a Skyline, handled a Mini Recon 1. The Mini Recon is wide, thick, and stocky. The Skyline is sleek, thin, and undetectable as far as feeling it in your pocket. Neither of them weigh too much, but the Skyline is noticeably lighter. Skyline opens and closes faster, but has one thin liner. Mini Recon 1 has a much stronger lock. I had to reshape the Skyline's handle to make it lock in a solid grip, while the Mini Recon felt made for me.
Only you can tell which one is better for you. Go to a knife store, or your closest sporting goods stores, and they'll likely have a Skyline for you to hold. If it feels too light and thin for you, then go for the Mini Recon.
