Just got in my new Kershaw Skyline in 1760DAM. I love it the weight is great, action is smooth, and edge is sharp. The only downside is the pocket clip. I prefer tip up carry on all my blades, and although it's truly not actually a lot showing, it seems like a giant sticking out of my pocket. I'm sure someone here has a recommendation for a replacement deep catty pocket clip and info on where to get it. Also if anyone knows a place to purchase different scales for it that would be awesome. Thanks in advance BF!

Sorry if this isn't the best section to post in. I couldn't find a Kershaw specific forum.

That is the only complaint I have about the skyline as well. Tip up they could have put it just a 1/4 inch higher and it would be perfect. I've seen a few threads around here about modded clips for them. Maybe in the Kershaw ar archive. For scales there's plenty of makers around here that could do it. Check out the knifemakers market.

Here is a mod another forum member did a while back. It's a mod on the stock Skyline clip.

If you're a lefty, you can try this:

If you don't mind the clip not directly aligning with the two holes, you can also put the ZT 0550/0560 deep carry clip on:

Nice finds flarp.

I remember seeing someone use a Spyderco wire clip on a Skyline. If I recall correctly they placed the ends of the clip in between the two Skyline screws and tightened it down. Not as deep carry as the others methods mentioned, but it will cut the amount of knife sticking out of your pocket by about half.

Edit
Just tried it on my Skyline with my Sage 1's clip and it didn't really work. The wire clip is a bit to thick to fit under the screws. It could probably be filed down to fit but I'm not going to do that.
The clip I remember might have been fashioned with a different clip or bit of wire.

Thanks for the tips. I actually have a zt0560bw shipping to me. Since I work in an office environment, and the Skyline doesn't get the jawdropping looks some of my other knives do, it might become my normal office edc. With that being said it might be sharing the pocket clip with the zt, at least for the time being.

If you contact KAI's customer service (phone or e-mail), and ask nicely, I'm sure they'd be happy to send you an extra pocket clip.

R.I.P......Kershaw/KAI........ was located within the "manufactures forum" section. I see you just recently joined in March 2014, so you missed out. That was one of the best areas hands down on BladeForums. Great info on all Kershaw & Zero Tolerance products. I miss it.:(

Thank you for the links.

I carry a Leek, Shallot or Skyline at work every day, tip up with a ton of knife showing out of the pocket, I love the flippers and knives are no big deal at work. However, a Caly 3 rides in my pocket when I need to be discreet. In all honesty, the kershaw knives are easier to draw tip up with that much knife exposed and sticking out of the pocket. Get a Cryo or a Thermite and enjoy the deep carry system on those.

I actually have a Cryo II BW that I got over the weekend. I'll carry it or my ZT0560BW hiking, fishing, or hunting. They would get funny looks from my coworkers though. My daily carry is usually one of these 3 -

That looks a lot like the main rotation I used to have... just minus a composite-blade Leek. I've since swapped out the Delica with a Caly3. I didn't think anything would ever displace the Delica, but the Caly3 really blew me away. The CB Leek is actually the longest standing member of my main rotation.

It was just a couple of minor things. The Caly3 feels more solid in hand (likely due to CF scales w/ full liners and steel backspacer being more rigid than the FRN scales w/ inset liners), has a "tighter" feel (tighter tolerances), and a deep carry clip. The CF version also features ZDP189 for the blade steel, which is nice. The finger choil is the only thing I'm somewhat indifferent to, but I like its position on the Caly3 more than some others. Due to the handle shape, I need to use the choil to get a good 4-finger grip (vs. the Delica, which doesn't have that issue). On the Caly3, the choil is wide enough to accommodate a grip with my thumb forward of my index finger (my general purpose grip) or more inline with it (choke grip for more precision work).
