So I picked one of these up the other day, The look really drew me towards it. Handled it at the local knife shop and really liked it. For 30 bucks I was very impressed! Rock solid lock up, One of the strongest clips I have ever seen on a cheaper knife, It almost reminds me of the clip that was on my Strider SNG. Smooth opening , Very nice textured G10. The liner lock feels very secure. The blade came out of the box like a razor, and it has kept the edge for good while now. And the flipper is very fun to play with :p. I just wondered if there are any other Skyline fans out there? What is everyone's take on it? Some pics would be nice too!!!!

love my skyline! light, thin, cheap. and for some reason out off all the knives ive ever bought, it was the sharpest out of the box. like scary sharp

I love mine, too. And I've got the Damascus version too:cool:
Might post a pic later

Yeah, the flipper works great on the Skyline. Very easy, very simple. (for most people)
Pocket clip is the same one used on most of the ZT line.

Tommie did a great job on the Skyline design. Go 513! :D

Good knife, got mine at Walmart while buying some ammo. I liked the look of the blade, liked the Kershaw brand and loved the price. I'm breaking in a new Benchmade at the moment but after another week or so it'll be back in my pocket. I have grown real fond of the Axis Lock though.

I really like the looks of the Skyline and I own a number of other Kershaws so I have been meaning to pick up one, just have not gotten around to it yet. ;)

Because of what others here had said before I noted wallyworld had some, so I included it with the rest of my purchase; nice little knife, I rotate it edc; have many other Kershaws so not surprised.

I love the skyline. Its light, has good steel, a very useful blade shape and it s cheap.

I prefer knives with thicker blades these days, but I still have the Skyline around and it still gets carried on certain occasions. Today it's one of my "project" knives; knives I experiment on. I put 32 degrees angle on and now it whittles hair, literally. It's too sharp to shave with, because it will catch on every little skin bump.

Lightweight, grippy, fast flip opening, solid liner lock, and sharper than a straight razor. Of course I still keep it around.

I like the skyline, I own one and enjoy flipping it, and I appreciate the quality of workmanship. But I really wish that kershaw would put a larger version out, just like their NRGII, which is just a slightly larger version of the NRG. The skyline is just too small for me to actually EDC it.

its my favorite edc away from work. my buddy got a damascus one, and i liked it so much i bought a stainless version. other than the beadblast finish, i really like it.

Bought one today and like it very much. Very nice quality iregardless of price.

Vinny (used to be a steel snob).

I really should give this knife another go. I was disappointed with my skyline because it would not lock up properly and sent it back.
I also had to send back my Lahar because the pocket clip would not tighten up and would just fall off the handle.
Both good knives, and no doubt just flukes. But I am without either.

Yup, love the Skyline. The size, weight, clip, etc. fits me perfectly. The price wasn't bad either. :D I had to adjust the pivot pin and put some lube on the pivot, but now it's buttery smooth.

I just picked one up. Coming from a millie, it is kind of small but otherwise I am very happy with it. Its like the millie's little brother who took gymnastics :D

It also feels pretty tough. Depending on your definition, it could be a "hard use" knife.

the kershaw od1 is also good. its around the same size and opens with a flipper. the skyline is lighter though.

I know what you mean. I went from carrying a 4" Benchmade Dejavoo to carrying the Skyline i got in a trade last week and its a really nice knife, but so small. The more I look at kershaws knives the more i like them. Bump, Needs work, Skyline, Blackout, all really good knives. Hmmm....maybe time to join the fmaily...

kershaw has a good hit with the skyline,,like mine ,,great blade for 30 bucks..

Just got one today. Very light and very well made, blade centered, lock up with no blade play. Thumbstuds are worthless for launching the blade, but flipper is great. Really, I think most people don't know this, but the thumbstud on the liner lock side serves as the blade stop in the open position where it impacts the liner, and then as the stop when the blade is closed as it bears right on the little serrated portion of the liner lock itself. I think maybe the thumbstud on the other side of the blade was put there just to balance things out, or finish the opening motion of the blade if you didn't get a good launch with your flipper. This "thumbstud as blade stop" allows Kershaw to save weight and eliminate the usual stop pins, dual liners, ect. from this design. Very innovative in my opinion. Clip screws right into the metal liner, so it's very secure, won't strip out. A+ on the design and execution.
