Tonight I cleaned my spec bump (the one with 154CPM and was dated Oct05) with warm water and dish detergent. Big mistake! After I was done, I noticed that some of the color of the coating had faded. Now the blade has noticeble patches of grey to darker grey on it. Perhaps I should have known better because earlier today, I wiped the blade with some WD40 using Q-tip. At that time I already noticed some reddish brown color somehow got on to the cotton of the Q-tip stick. Still, didn't know that the coating could come off so easily. So don't repeat my mistake, folks.
Oh, is coating covered by the warranty? I mean, a knife with that price tag...
Also, I noticed that my spec bump is actually not pointed. By that I mean the very end of point is not like /\ . It is more like |\
Is your spec bump like that?
Sorry if I haven't made it clear to you. I just wish I had a camera.
