I bought the Kershaw speed bump a few days ago. I picked it up and it felt great in my hands and it has a very unique blade design. It opened up quickly and smoothly. I cut some steak with it...actually alot of steak with it and it handled it nicley, it cut vegetables and boxes with equal eeze and it still is hair popping sharp. My only complaint....and actually a BIG one is the lock, I dont think I'll ever own a kershaw with that speedsafe lock again. It has locked up on me three times. Where when you go to push forward on the stud it wont go forward no matter how hard I press. This to me is a safety problem, as I have exerted great effort to move this lock forward to close it and I cannot close it. It has been stuck this way. I really want to like this knife, but I think a linerlock would be better suited.
Would I recommend this knife? No not with this lock, switch it to a liner lock and I would say absolutley, the price is very nice on this piece and it fits in my hand perfectly. I will try to get the lock unstuck some more.
I finally did get it unstuck, I am not sure whether the studs get stuck in the locked position or what. I really like this knife and the handle and blade design. The lock is leaving me unsatisfied.
