Kershaw Speed Bump

just got it in the mail...man, it looks smaller in the picture...thats ok though....i like big knives..at any rate...solid construction and everything works well but the safety lock...when i engage it it works initially but all it takes is a little push on the blade and it gives out and i can open the blade...should i tighten the torx head screw or is it something more?+
 
Congrats. I got one a few weeks ago and am happy with it.

Maybe you're not engaging the lock all the way? On mine, it was a little stiff at first, being brand new. You had to push fairly hard to make it 'snap' into the safe position. If it's not all the way there, the knife will do what you describe. After some use it loosened up and is easier to operate now.
 
See what Kershaw will do for you under warranty or the website you bought it from. If the locking mech is not holding that's a serious issue or defect. Kershaw would probably replace I would think, I have heard they are very good to customers.
