Hey guys. It's been a long time since I've bought a Kershaw but the Speedform has really caught my eye. I just saw that Knifecenter has the Speedform II, a smaller and cheaper version of the titanium RIL version. Has anyone picked one up? If so, impressions of the design and ELMAX steel?

I have a ZT 0350 in ELMAX. LOVE IT !
Sharpens easily, holds a great edge, and does it ever get sharp! I'm waiting to pick up a couple of those Speedform IIs myself. J_Morrow has that knife, he posted some images of it and his impressions too. Looks like a real winner.

I got a chance to handle a few this week.
I have to say they are nice.
I like the finish on the blade and the way the handle fits in my hand.
I have to admit that I wasn't very keen on the Speedform design when it came out.
Since the release of the Speedform II it has started to grow on me.
The Speedform II just fits me better I guess.

I like the bigger speedform due to my hand size but I like the 2 enough to have bought a spare.

The alignment is perfect on both, liner lock excellent. The steel does like to take really sharp edges and holds them pretty well. I'd say it's easier to sharpen than S30V or D2. I haven't done any really hard testing on wear resistance but I know it keeps that really sharp edge longer than, say, S30V. What I don't know is the extent of how long it will cut for. Hopefully some of the testers who have their system down can give it a run and see how it places in comparison to the S30V, CPM 154 class steels. First impressions puts it in that class, but not up to the 20CV/M390P much less S90V/10V vanadium steels.

I do like it better than D2, but I still favor M2 and M4 HS steels.

That's what I felt about the Speedform, and only bought it because I had purchased the other limited editions that Kershaw produced. Wasn't expecting much except a "dainty" knife. That ALL changed when it got here! A very robust knife that fits my hand like a glove. Just excellent throughout!

Even though it is less expensive, and smaller, the Speedform II should also be a nice knife. With the G-10 handles it will be nice and grippy, and Kershaw knows their way around a liner lock whenit comes to building one!
