kershaw steel change

When did Kershaw change from 440 to 13C26 steel?
And what makes this even more confusing, is that some websites are still listing their Kershaw blades as 440, so that doesn't help at all! And no steel stamp on the blade...just a date stamp...so inconvenient...

Kershaw uses many steels. There main steel is now 14C28N. It is an upgrade from the 13C26 and was made exclusively for Kershaw by Sandvic. The switch to 14C28N was made at the beginning of 2009 so you will still see a lot 13C26 around. The born on date will give you the best idea of which steel it is. They also still use many other steels, more than I can remember.

July 07 and after 13c26.
 
Is there any improvement in edge retention with the 14C28N compared to the 13C26? I have been underwhelmed with the latter to be honest.
