I received a Kershaw "Segal" knife a few months ago as a gift. I basically put it away and did not look at it very closely. I checked it out the other night and noticed that the liner lock barely engages the blade. A tiny portion of the liner lock does not even rest on the blade. It seems to me for safety, the lock should be nearly centered on the blade. Although I'll probably never use it as EDC, this lock issue really bothers me. I guess my question to Kershaw owners is, is this something that Kershaw should cover under warranty? Have any of you had any good/bad experiences with Kershaw's warranty service?

Thanks... Randy

It will continue to move over the right with time. In the meantime, break it in a little by opening and closing in many times, I'm sure it will slide over sooner than you think. This isn't really something that I would send a knife in for. Also, using a little force, or pulling back on the blade, or just manually pushing the lock over may work the lock to where you want it to be.
Please keep us updated. Thanks.

When I make a liner lock I try to have only half of or the thickness of the lock behind the blade. There is room for wear and the straighter the liner lock is the stronger...Take Care

I am expecting a knife back from Kershaw customer service any day now.
I would have to say that judging from many e-mails we have exchanged that their customer service is among the very best.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try working it a little, anyways you lety me know it wasn't something to worry about

Thanks again
Randy
