For the same price( Around 30$) ,Would you get the Kershaw storm 2, or the all stainless ,Spyderco Endura plain edge(they are basicly the same length)?

I would definitely get the Storm. I don't like "pure" SS handles, so the grip inserts are very helpful, I like the recurve it uses, I love flippers, and I like framelocks better than lockbacks. Sandvik steel is no slouch either.

They're actually very different knives, if they appear to be for the same overall purpose (large inexpensive EDC).

The storm series feels almost like a secret among Kershaw fans...I keep thinking that if only everyone knew how much knife you got for how little cash, every person would have one (which clearly is not the case).

The Endura is a legend, and I'm a Spyderco guy in general, but I'm one of very few people that thinks the Delica/Endura line has better options, even within Spyderco's own lineup.

Another vote for kershaw. This knife is THE best value for the price IMO. As said the recurve is a great slicer and the grip inserts help alot. Another thing is the flipper which adds a cool factor to the storm II. Also i find the kershaw to be more people friendly because it has a more elegant design than the spyderco.

Hey JRC....

The Kershaw is a nice blade,, However....
If you are debating between the two, get a Endura Waved...
I'am so Impressed by the Wave feature on both the Delica and Endura that I want one on Every knife...

The Waved Endura has Every knife beat in it's class for use-ability it's not even funny..
Hands down I'd take a Waved Endura over most any folder of it's same size...

it's not the waved Endura, it's just the regular stainless one. I like the Kershaww I think. I can't believe it's only 29$!!! I sharpened the top swedge halfway down and filed thumb notches. now it kinda has a hawkbill in reverse grip. Good Pikal knife. Just gotta be careful carrying it not to cut myself drawing it. I'll post picks soon

Another vote for the Spyderco here. I always return to Spyderco because they just "feel" right and cut like crazy. The Endura has been my favorite knife for a long time. Now that I work in an office a Delica or Native has become my EDC. When I worked outside I carried an Endura all the time.

The Endura is a classic and one of the best designs of all time. I would get it first and add the Kershaw later.

I don't dislike Kershaw and have 4 Leeks, but I think Spyderco makes the best inexpensive cutters.

I would like to replace the grip panels in my Storm with rayskin. I fond the stock inserts are a little too aggresive and rough on my pants.

As far as the gripability of the stainless endura, you can put grip tape on the sides.

I agree with the comments regarding the Storm's grip inserts being too aggressive. However, I think you'll find that a month of EDC rotation will bring it down to just right, as it did with our Storm. I'm sure you can accelerate that process with some sandpaper if you like. In the long term, the inserts will treat you well.

i like the kershaw but for the same price i'd have to go with the spyderco endura. it'll carry easier and you won't have the skin rubbed of the back of your hand by the sandpaper inserts. however they're both very good knives. i actually like the steel in the kershaw better than the vt-10 in the endura. dang boy for under $30 apiece buy both and trade the one you don't like. later, ahgar

Spyderco any day of the week. Not only works great but a nice look to it too.

I think that especially for us Spyderco guys, the Kershaw is a great deal. I like variety, and the Storm II is a very different knife from the usual Spydies. With its tip-down blade, it fits real well in my back pocket and leaves my front pocket free for an Endura Wave. :D

I don't know what the problem is supposed to be with the grip tape. It doesn't bother me at all. And it's handy if you need a nailfile ...
