Hey everyone, long time lurker of these forums, very helpful and often times hilarious as well.
In my Sr year of Highschool, 2005 or so, my ex girlfriend got me a Kershaw Storm 2 for my birthday. Now I wasn't a big knife guy at the time, and this was my very first one I've ever really owned. I do like this knife quite a bit, but I've had it for quite a while and frankly have no idea the relative quality of it.
I hear many Kershaw fans SWEAR by the Skyline, but I never hear much about the Storm 2, which I believe is discontinued anyway. Now that its 2012, the Storm is still holding up, more or less. The liner lock still functions, the blade is still sharp (or able to be sharpened) and I still really like the flipper function. However, there's not a small amount of vertical play, and I fear that horizontal play may be next, though this may be misplaced fear.
I've seen the Storm on Kershaw's website for like 45$ msrp, and then skyline which is around 40. Is the Storm 2 some kind of secret mid high(ish) end knife that I didn't even know about, or should I be unafraid of (what I hope is) upgrading to the new Kershaw series?
Thanks in advance, and if I wasn't clear on my question let me know, I don't feel I quite asked it well enough, but we shall see.
