Hi guys I just saw the kershaw storm in a walmart flyer for $40. I like the looks of it alot and the blade shape looks practical (nice deep belly + recurve), but is it a good knife? also where is it made? I heard kershaw has started making some of their stuff in china. how is the edge retention? If its good, Im going to get that one.
Thanks

Dunno whre it's made but I've looked at them a couple of times.

You can get them cheaper online , just do a google for kershaw storm and check the first two links , cheaper than $40.

Not a bad little knife , almost got one today but scored another Chive instead.

Good steel , solid feel , framelock , not bad at all.

Iv had a phobia about buying knives online ever since a friends gerber gator got confiscated at the border.
Living in candada is hard for a knifenut:(

The Storm is one of the best deals for the money. Made in USA, SS framelock, 13C26 steel. Steel takes and holds a great edge.

What he said. My Storm 2 I got at Walmart is one of my favorite folders even out of my more expensive ones. I wish so bad you could get one with G-10 scales.

I like my Storm II also, I agree G-10 scales would be a good idea.

Storm is one of the thinnest knives I own. Plus, with it's steel handles it has a very solid feel.

Where in BC do you live? Check out Jay's store, Warriors&Wonders. He's got a fair amount of stuff, and it's all cleared Customs already. Don't know how your friend's Gator got confiscated, it's just a folder, unless it was so loose you could flick it open with just your wrist. I brought several knives into canada last month, some were assisted open (with a spring), all made it through fine. If you're that worried about buying online from the U.S., just tell whoever you buy it from to tighten up the pivot before they ship it.

Great knife and well made in the USA. The one small thing that I don't like are the thumb studs. They are angled and sharp at the top, making it hard to open at times. It would be better with thumb studs more like the ones that buck uses on most of their knives. But the price is right bought mine on that bay place for $19.

i got one about 3 months ago adn i gotta say i love it. good edge retention, large blade, solid lockup and frame, adn best of all...MADE IN THE U.S.A!!! i'd get it if i was you. cant beat it for the price.

It's not as easy as some, but this knife can be flicked with it's smallish flipper. Helps if you get your hand to moving downwards when you flip it.

I just ordered a Storm II nonserrated 3.5" blade for under $25 on that bay place.Looks like a great knife for the$$

I love the Storm II. I have had mine for about 3-4 weeks and have been using it daily. The 13c26 steel gets real sharp easy. And, it is easy to carry because it is very slim and light.

nough said. im getting one right away before they sell out.
p.s did you know the original price on that thing was $69? and this is supposed to be walmart.

well just got it! After playing with it for about half an hour Iv concluded that it is worth 3 times the amount of $$$ i paid. good solid feel, solid lockup, razor sharp. so far I havent done any major cutting with it but I demolished a cardboard box, sliced a grapefruit and shaved my arm clean with it and I really like how the recurve blade pulls stuff like cardboard tighter aganst the blade and the deep belly is perfect for slicing that grapefruit. I will right a review in a couple of days but so far I have only two minor gripes. Like presz I found the thumbstuds a little too short and sharp and the handle is a little too small for my massive paws (i got the shorter one.) But none of this would stop me from buying the knife again if i had too.

I just bought mine last night for 30 bucks at wally world and I must say I am impressed. I just changed the direction of the clip and am very happy with it.

good buys guys. i have had mine for about 4 months now and i lvoe it. true, it isnt my edc since i have me grip now, but it is stilla kick ass knife. cnat go wrong with it in my opinion. and if anyone wants to know how sharp it is, i gave myself 8 stitches from it:jerkit:

Hey, I too have been sliced by my Storm II. It is the only wound I have been dealt by any of my knives. It took a nice little chunk out of my left index finger on the knuckle. Albeit it was my fault, but I still can blame the knife. :D
