Here is the review of the kershaw storm,
Overall its a great knife and a steal for the $40. Feels very solid in the hand and looks great. Made in the USA.

Edge retention, 8/10 - holds an edge really well but will become dull in the recurve and stay razor sharp on the belly. Dont know why but it just bugs me.

Blade shape 10/10 - I know alot of people dont like recurves but I love this one. Even with the recurve, it maintains a really deep belly which is perfect for slicing.

Ease of sharpening 7/10 - I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to sharpen. I was afraid to sharpen the recurve without buying a rod of some sort but it got dull and I hate dull knives so I tried sharpening it on an arkansas stone. It worked fine but it wasnt as easy to sharpen as a straight blade. All it needed was a couple of passes then some stropping to return it to hair popping sharp.

One hand opening 5/10 - It opens smooth enough and you dont have to push really hard but the angled thumbstuds tore up my thumb real bad (anyone know why kershaw makes em like this?)

Pocketability 10/10 - Really thin and you barely feel it until you need it. The clip is reversible. I switched it to tip up to add a lanyard.

Sheeple friendliness 3/10 - This knife is not sheeple friendly. I sat on a park bench whittling aimlessly on a piece of wood to test sheeple reaction and it seems the recurve blade scares the crap out of people. (although one old guy showed me his sebenza and L.M charge TTI.) Also, it has a huge clip which is impossible to miss, (or mistake for a pen.) and when you carry it tip up, it rides really high.

Lockup 9/10 - The lockup feels very solid and passed the strongest spine whack I could bear to deliver, there was a minute amount of vertical blade play. You couldnt feel the blade moving but if you shook it really hard, it would rattle. I tightened the pivot screw and now there is no rattle at all.

Grip 8/10 - The grip is very good but I cant review it properly because the handle is a bit small for my huge paws, but even then it gives a secure grip.

Whittling 10/10 - Very good for whittling. The recurve holds the wood against the blade.

Food prep 10/10 - Best food prep knife I ever had. I effortlessly sliced up some paper thin slices of beef for jerky, cut about 3 salads and alot of food with no effort at all.

Cutting 10/10 - The recurve draws materials like rope and cardboard against the blade for optimum cutting performance.

All in all, Its one heck of a knife and I strongly reccomend it to anyone who needs a good knife on a low budget. My only gripes are the thumbstuds and the tip looks rather delicate, so don't pry with it.

Thanks for the review.

The grip doesn't fit me very well, either, but the sandpaper slabs should keep it from dancing out of one's fingers. Also, ditto on the sheeple friendly observations. The knife also is a bit slim, which is great for carrying, but difficult for holding while cutting.

Quality is outstanding. Hefting it is a pleasure. The recurved blade is great for cutting cord, string, or rope. It's kind of like having a plain edge CS Vaquero.
