SpeedSafe, with a street price of around $ 100 is where we are now.

Okey dokey, here's the third question.

Kershaw's MO is to sell to distributors, who sell to dealers, who in turn sell to us. There has been an occasion that Kershaw struck a deal with New Graham, when the 14 S60V Blurs were released. But we were only dealing with 14 knives. A higher volume might require a different method of distribution. Now acourvil has offered to buy 50 or 100 of them, with no mark-up other than shipping and a percentage going to Bladeforums. However, I think the demand for the very first Kershaw Forum Knife might exceed 250 or so. This might require Kershaw to pull some production to meet this need. Understandable, right?

So the next logical question is: Would you be willing to pay up-front once the knife is selected and the price is set? Again, we're talking about a street price of $ 100 or so, and there may very well be a wait until the knives are ready for release.

3 days on this one!

I'd pay up right now if ya asked me to. Where do I sign??:D

In all seriousness, I really don't have a problem paying in advance. For something like this, I don't like taking chances on missing out, so prepay to reserve is fine by me.

Are we still on the "1 blade per person" scenario?
Whatever case may be I don't mind paying upfront.

I have a hard time answering this question. What if I pay up front for 1 or 2 or 3 but end up wanting more and there aren't any?
What do I do then?
I know there needs to be an estimate on how many are to be made.
It's not like a manf is going to produce 1000 pcs and "hope" they sell.

I dunno
I'll let ya'll decide.

Pay up in advance for the number you think you will want! :p I wanted 2 of the S60V Blurs, too!

Don't worry Mike, we'll get to this question later! That's why its important to know who's committed enough to pay in advance.

I'm sure it will be a fairly low run, but I don't think it should be limited to one per person.

As long as we had some assurance that if we pay up-front then we'll get one, then i'm down for one ;)

BA, once we get to the point of paying up, we'll know all the details of the knife, and hopefully GG might even be able to tell us when to expect its shipping. We have to remember IF this is done, it will have to be built around Kershaw's regular production schedule.

Oh god, poll 18 :D

(put away the pitchforks and torches Spiral)

In all seriousness, at a street price of $100 it should be a pretty nice piece of work. I'm definitely down to pre-pay.

I'm in for at least two. Do you think we could get 250 people in on this? Sometimes it seems putting something like this together on a public forum is like herding cats.

Don't worry, I'm a trained professional. I have a Merit Badge in Cat Herding! :D
