Picked this one up the other day. I needed something that was not quite as big as my BM Skirmish and saw this one online.

It's a solid little knife, so far I love it. While it is not speed assist and does not even have a thumstud it opens easily. Smooth action, doesnt bear down or feel gritty at all. It also locks up solid and when it is closed the blade doesn't rub the frame. It is set up for right pocket carry, and you can switch the clip to tip up or tip down which is nice. 3.5 inch blade, so it is legal to carry in most jurisdictions. I like the black coating on it, I just hate the scratches that will show up with time.

My only concerns are the blade style. I do have to admit I got it with the tanto blade because on this knife it just looks cool. I don't use my pocket knives to skin a deer though, so I am sure it will be fine for most any job. Other than that I am wondering how it will sharpen up with the blade being grooved instead of flat or hollow ground.

All in all it seems to be a great little knife. They run about 70-80 bucks (think I paid 80) and seem to be well worth the money so far.

From AG's site (Where I picked mine up at).

Yes. It is a frame-lock, but it has the g10 overlays which gives it the appearance of a liner-lock.

Thanks for the link ThomasW, very informative stuff there. Good of RJ Martin to stop by there and clear the air.

Like I said, it's just a cool knife. I saw Mr. Martins original in a knife publication some time ago and thought the grooved blade was pretty awesome. And though I have only had it a day or two it has already bit me. That bastid is sharp! I used to work in retail selling knives and I don't think I ever came across a Kershaw that didnt have a razor sharp edge.

WOW-Great pics! The all black finish is a nice surprise-Good call, Thomas-I really like it.

Maurice-Please let us know how you like the tanto blade shape. I am betting it will really grow on you. The "second point" is very useful for opening boxes, etc, since it bites into the cut so well when combined with the recurved portion of the edge.

Enjoy!

Nice pick-up on the Groove, Maurice.
I believe you'll be happy with it.

Thank you Mr Martin for a very well designed knife.
I always thought it was great looking until I got one and
found out it was hard working as well.
