I just ordered one from knifecenter yesterday, ngk didnt have it. It looks to be a solid knife, but I wanted to get some info/reviews on it from you guys. I found a couple of vids on youtube for it, but I want all the info I can get. I have an orange zing in the sandvik steel, and its a great steel IMO, so I figured I can't go wrong with Kershaw quality:thumbup:, frame lock, tanto blade, etc. Thanks in advance for any comments! :D

I love my Groove , the original not the tanto.

Pluses ? Vey sturdy , I consider it a hard use knife , very capable. The flipping action is smooth as silk and the lockup is strong. Great ergonomics , feels great in the hand , no hot spots. The recurve on mine makes cutting so easy , eats cardboard like nothing else and I dont have a problem keeping my curves sharp. Big plus is Kershaws top shelf warranty and customer service.

Minuses ? none :D

I've got both models, and like them for different reasons. The point of the standard model is more beefy (IMO), which is a bit of a switch from the usual impression of a tanto. That's due not so much to the (tanto) design of the point as to its taper and amount of stock supporting it.

This being said, I would use my tanto Groove for tasks requiring something more "pointy." It's certainly not a matter of either being better.

Regardless, I think you'll be happy with this knife. As others have said; great lock-up, sweet action, fine steel, and Kershaw's committment to satisfying customers.

I've got one in my pocket right now. Great ergos, with a very sturdy lock, and a super smooth and fast flipper. As far as the blade shape goes, some don't like tantos, and a lot of tanto shapes, I don't, but this one I really do. It's more like a Wharnie, drop point, tanto mix.

I would suggest you get a G&G Grip Clip for it. It really finishes off the knife.

The one I'm using a swiped off of my RAM. I plan to replace it soon, though.

Compared to my usual Spyerco Military/ZT0200 type EDC, the Tanto Groove feels kind of like an overbuilt Leek. That said, I love the knife. The design is right up my alley (just wish it weren't recurved), and is definitely a solid little folder.

I own a few, much more expensive knives and find this one in my pocket 90% of the time. It is a great value for the money, good steel, good size and easy to keep razor sharp. The only con is that it is a little heavy. If it was titanium, it would be perfect.

I waved my groove, I have it tip-up in my left-front pocket right now so it's an auto ice-pick grip upon drawing. I've EDC'd it for 1.5 years now.

Oh man it would so cool if Kershaw made a Ti version of the Groove!

:):D

Quick question...

Is the Tanto Groove chisel ground? In the pics I've seen, it seems to be. That would be a deal breaker for me.
