Got this little gem in the mail yesterday and I am so in love with this knife I just have to tell everyone about it:p.
Got it from kershawguy for about $30 shipped to my door, a great deal and I would have paid more this knife if I had to cause it is worth it.
I don't often buy "cheaper" folding knives anymore as they can never compete with my higher end Benchmades and Spydercos, but guess what is in my pocket today:D;). This knife actually made me grin when I first handled it.

The ergos are wonderful, four finger grip but just barely, very comfortable to hold and use, bigger handle than my mini-grip, but slightly smaller then my Delica 4, perfect. The FRN actually inmpresses me and doesn't feel or look like plastic at all, texture is a lot like G-10 though less grippy. The pocket clip is mounted very close to both ends of the handle so it rides deep in the pocket, the clip is very functional and attractive, also small and unobtrusive.

The blade is a little scary at first, just looks nasty with a needle sharp tip and thin profile, like if you slipped up and stabbed your self in the chest it would pierce a rib or two:D. I am usually not a fan of tantos, but this one is very functional, it doesn't have a steep transition between the two grinds, so cuts more like a drop point and is easy to sharpen. The thickness is just right for its size, stout yet thin enough to still cut my apple without splitting or cracking it.

Thumb studs are great, I love the angled design, same as on the Blur, very secure and comfortable. The flipper works pretty well, and I open it by both the flipper and studs equally so far (both work great).

Lockup is right on the money, very solid yet easy to disengage when you want to close the knife, I hate really stiff or sticky liner/frame locks, I like my knife to close just as smoothly as it opens, this does both.

I don't have much more to say except, BUY ONE (or two, lol), you won't be disappointed.
Very cool little knife, feels great in the hand, easy to deploy, solid and functional, small yet big enough for everything I encounter on a day to day basis. Knife just feels like quality, I give it :thumbup:.

Great job Kershaw, I like this one better than the Skyline, OD-1, JYD, Leek, Scallion, and several other combined, only one it doesn't beat is my S30V Blur, love em both equally, lol.

Now I have to wait for kershawguy to get more orange packrats in, I NEED one, lol.

I have a regular point Zing , it really is a great mid sized flipper. Impressed the most with how sturdy it is for a smaller knife ! The locking bar is nice and thick for a linerlock.

I think the tanto Zing looks neater though :)

Thanks for the review.

Yeah, I think it looks better, but I wanted a regular Zing in orange, my supplier was out, lol. I need to get something in orange for the Fall.

Brian,

Can you be more specific about comparison with the Skyline, one of my favorite designs?
Thanks.

I love the Skyline as well, in fact I want one in orange, lol. It's just a personal preference thing, I like smaller knives for edc, I also find the Zing to fit the contours of my hand better, the lock is easier to disengage and the pocket clip/mounting position lets the knife sit a lot lower in tip down position (my preference).

The Skyline is a better flipper though due to the larger flipper.

They are both great and on the same playing field in my opinion.

I inexplicably find myself reaching for my Zing far more then I ever expected, even over more expensive knives. I don't know what it is about it, but I just love it. Great little knife for $27 (Amazon), it's probably what I would recommend to all non-knife enthusiasts if they want a decent knife.

How about some shots comparing Zing and Skyline!

I don't have a Skyline at the moment, had one in black and gave it away, now I am wanting another in orange.
