For those of you that have the Thermite (or I guess the Cryo is similar in this) - is the ball bearing in the lock-bar strong/large enough to act as a detent ball if you drill an appropriate recess in the blade? Or would adding a detent be a more involved job that just that?

I'm enjoying the knife, but I think I'd enjoy it more without waiting for the torsion bar to snap.

/Subscribed. I'm anxious to know the answer as well.

Maybe you would draw more attention if you changed the thread title to include "Cryo" since its a more popular knife.

This thread shows a fellow member (great guy) modding the cryo to add a detent hole. It can be done.

The Thermite is out in limited availability...just for fun, here's mine with a kirinite scale, and acid stonewashed frame:cool:

I just wasn't sure if the little ball is enough to hold the bigger blade of the Thermite.

Its a standard detent ball, should work fine, just go slow drilling.
