I don't have one but have overhauled more than a hundred knives with similar action.
Until the people who can give you specifics show up I will keep you company and will post some thoughts :
does the assist function seem to be still in place ? Some times people deassist the knife for one reason or another.
I DETEST the term break in. A nicely made and set up machine should work as intended from day one ; not to say it won't get better over time but IMO there is something decidedly wrong if the knife isn't easy and fun to use out of the box. This exerience , the fun bit , I must say is not aleays the norm , too often it is not fun and so my life time of taking things home from the store and making something fun , or at least useful out of the pile of debris . Perhaps I am too much of a perfectionist . Maybe opening or closing a knife SHOULD cause skin and nerve damage ( Cold Steel ) . OK i got it out, I'm better now
Next take a look at the pivot . Some times people or manufacturers way over tighten the pivot to get it through customs : nah , this isn't an auto knife ; look I need two hands just to open it !
Finally perhaps the " detent " is too strong = The ? lock bar ? needs to be unbent slightly to take some preasure off . . . or the detent ? hole ? needs a bured edge smoothed out . . . I had one flipper that had such a rough / coarsely ground surface that the detent ball slid across that it would not flip all the way open easily and consistantly until I litterally POLISHED the blade in that area ; Spyderco Mantra 2 .
