i've got this damn knife stuck in my head... well, not literally. i REALLY REALLY feel like i'm supposed to buy one. does anyone know anything that i should know about 'em? would it be stupid to buy one and actually carry it, being that it's numbered and all? i was thinking it would make a nice carry knife as long as i didn't use kydex or put it to any utilitarian use (other than apples and cheese). is the knife actually strong enough to be considered a reliable SD tool?
 
It's numbered, yes, but that doesn't mean anything. Mine was numbered 16 thousand something. BFD. I bought one because like you I couldn't get the knife out of my head. I never had any use for one, I just wanted one. It's a heavy, solid knife and would do just fine for self defense if the size and weight doesn't bother you. I eventually sold it because, as I said, I had no use for it, and I needed money.
 
Im a huge Kershaw junkie and I want one of these in the worst way, but I keep finding other things to buy...plus double edged knives are pretty limited to carry depending on local laws. Its as solid as it gets in regards to SD.
