Kershaw turnaround time

Hello all. I am curious about others experience with Kershaw's turnaround time when sending in knives for repairs/fixes. I sent two of mine in to have the clips swapped from tip down to tip up carry when i ran into problems with the screws on both. One of the knives screws stripped when pressure was put on them(as they were stiff and impossible for me to turn using my Kershaw Torx tool), and the other knife's screws refused to go back in when i unscrewed them and moved the clip. What kind of wait time have others experienced? Thanks.

I think the warranty info on the site states allow 4-6 weeks from receipt of knife.

9 times out of 10 it is 5-7 days coast to coast for me. When it is near a holiday, Blade Show, or a factory sale day it can take up to a week longer. Since Blade and the Summer Factory Sale are just finished up.... it shouldn't take too long. If it gets to the point where you feel like it has taken too long....... just give them a call. They will set e/t straight in a hurry.

Yeah, the dates given by policy statements and the like are always kinda broad and not entirely indicative of what the reality is. I have found that it goes both ways. I have had a custom watch shipped from China and it arrived on my doorstep five days after it was shipped. WAY under the proposed time range given by the somewhat low end option i chose. Conversely, i have had a book shipped to me via priority from two states away that took a little over two weeks to arrive. I even checked the ship dates and it had indeed been in transit the entire time, not just shipped late. Anyway. I am just curious what peoples actual experiences with Kershaw's turnaround time are. Good and bad. Hopefully overwhelmingly good. I miss my knives. Especially my Orange Tyrade. It matters none that it hasn't been inordinately long...i miss it dammit. Keep em coming if you wanna chime in.

I sent the e-mail request for clip screws because of the same problem. They sent a reply with a 5 day window for getting them. I am hoping to get one to catch and not strip or it's back to the factory. You should be able to switch the clip with no problem but I've read there is a great big problem with that.

I miss my big honkin' orange tyrade too!

5-7 days has been my experience as well.

Thought i would update here. I had emailed Kershaw to see where things were and i heard back from them today. They first let me know that my knives were done and would find their way over to Shipping in a few days as they were running behind. Then about an hour later i got a second email from someone who stated that they had personally walked my knives over there and that they would be in transit in a day or so. Good stuff man.

My S60V Blur and Orange Tyrade arrived back from the Kershaw Rep. Dept. today. The Blur's clip had been swapped to tip up carry and the screws i stripped trying to unscrew it originally had been replaced. Excellent. Slightly sadder news to follow.

The Tyrade, with it's mystery screws(i.e. wouldn't screw back in once unscrewed) came back with the clip reattached once again to Tip down carry, in stead of the requested Tip Up. I thought maybe they fixed the problem and just got the orientation wrong. Nope. I unscrewed the clip again and tried to put it tip up, and voilaaa! Back where i started. Dagnabbit!

Other than that Kershaw was great to deal with. I corresponded with the same person throughout and they were very informative and helpful when i emailed them my questions. I guess you can't win them all. I just cannot bear to send the Tyrade back out after having just gotten it back home. I asked them for several screws to be sent in the hope that it is just the screws that are the trouble. Here's hoping.

When putting in tip up, go slow. It took me about 5 minutes a screw to get them in, just be patient.
Try again, just don't try to hurry.

Well, the new screws showed up on Saturday along with three new clips for the Tyrade. Only problem is that they are presumably the wrong screws, as they do not fit. They are not long enough to reach the actual threads inside the handle. ggrrrr...that's annoying. Sent off another email to Kershaw. Now I wait to see what happens this time.

I'm still waiting one knife going on week 5. Others have come back in a couple so I think it depends on how major the problem is.

Also, I have never sent them a copy of any receipts and have never been asked for one.

I e-mailed the specific model number with verbal description of my orange Tyrade's stripped clip screws. They sent some clip with the wrong screws. I called and spoke to the head of the waranty department. They sent the same clip and wrong screws again.

I have since sent the knife back with explicit directions for tip up and even taped the clip where it should go. With this BS and the no-go on the blue I ordered I'm afraid the honeymoon is over with Kershaw.

Well that's disheartening. I hope i have better luck and they don't just send the wrong screws again to me as well. If they do then i suppose i will have to follow your example and send the knife back with the clip taped into tip up position.
