Just received a Kershaw Tyrade Orange G10 knife.
I think it is terrific and a great price
Buying another tonight because the kid will swipe this one when he gets back.

My question is:

Should I consider having a machine shop or a knife maker add slots on the back of the blade.
I have a KOA Denali Trailblazer D2 G10 which has slots on the top of the blade whick I like a lot since I have better control when holding the knife with my index finger up the blade for gutting.
Or should I just leave it alone?

Thanks

Is that what the notches are called - "Jimping" ?

I don't kow much about knkives

Just looked at the Tyrade Titanium - and I see the Jimping at the thumb rest, but no slots on the top of the blade.

The KOA Denali Trailblazer D2 G10 I have has Jimping about 2/3 the way on the top of the blade from the hinge to the tip - no slip when I move up the knife with my index finger gutting.

In any case - perhaps the blade of the Tyrade is a bit too long for sliding up with my index finger for gutting.

Maybe just use it as an all purpose camp knife - it sure is impressive - and I am still stunned at the low price for such a solid knife.

I guess I can try at the local machine shop and ask them how they can cut 154CM

Thanks
