Hi everyone. I'm interested in the tyrade assist opening folder with titanium handle and carbonfiber inlay. I don't see the screws on the handle. Are they under the carbonfiber inlay? How do you disassemble the knife when you have to? Thanks

Yes the handle screws are under the inlays and they are glued in place.

Another member detailed how you can heat the inlays with a blow dryer or heat gun, soften the glue and then pull up the inlays.

Or you can do what I do with my Tyrade.... not disassemble it. I clean my Tyrade by spraying a liberal amount of RemOil into the pivot area and then shaking out the excess. RemOil is a light lubricant with a cleaning solution.

I have one of these but would never carry it...my wife would think I'm crazy!
lol (seriously, it's an intimidating large knife)
Too bad your not in the US, I would sell it to you. :)
Best of luck with the search.

I have two blemished Ti Tyrades that I bought at a super duper awesomely ridiculously low price that I absolutely love an cherish. They are very beefy folders that can handle a ton of abuse (not that I have abused one) and look very sexy doing it. The blade steel combination (154cm spine and cpm-d2 cutting edge) is absolutely awesome. However all that being said I still can't bring myself to use one. I have done a little bit of whittling with one and it sliced a lot better than I thought but haven't really put it through its paces.

I must be that member! The inlays are easy to remove using a hair dryer, or heat gun. Just start on one edge and once the edge is loose place a very thin screwdriver, butter knife, or whatever fits, under the edge and gently pry up as the glue gets warm and releases. I used super glue to put them back in and have had no problems with them.

It might have been you.

But I know if I tried to do that, bad things would happen, I'm a klutz :)

Hi Cutter,

How much is the inlays recessed into the Titanium (question is to anyone that knows)? I'm hoping that there is no recess in the titanium. I'd like to see that knife without the CF. Anyone got a picture handy! Thanks
