I went to the new Walmart in Boise yesterday, to look at Sydercos. I'm a relative newbie on this forum and I have been pretty knocked out by the overwhelming "Spydie Love". Never having owned one, I thought I'd, at least, go have a look and handle one or two. Well, I guess, because it is a brand new Walmart, they don't have their full compliment of knives, as yet, and so, not a single Spydie to be found.

However, I did handle a Kershaw "Vapor". This seemed like a whole lotta knife for 20 bucks. AUS6, tight lockup, easy handling and a perfect fit for my small/medium sized hand. Since I can't search archives I don't know what forumites have had to say about this knife. Comments??

I would be highly surprised if Walmart carries Spyderco. I don't know if it's becasue spyderco's are higher in price generally, or whoever decides what walmart should have conlcuded walmart customers like BUck's, shrades, and stuff like that.

Vapor is a great knife for $20.

Huh!? I went there because I would have sworn that I read several references, on the forum, about the fact that they bought Spderco there at a good price. I must have had a brain cramp.

Kershaw Vapor -- outstanding design and the best "buy" for the money.
Can't say enough "good" things about this knife.

I have had mine for about a month and is an outstanding value. I paid 19 bucks for mine. I sharpened it up abit only once. It will absolutely pop hair and cut whatever needs to be cut and right now. Lockup is rock solid, it has loosened up nicely but is still very tight when locked up and the blade centers perfectly. Don't know how they do it for 19 bucks. Great value, great knife, you won't go wrong with one. Keep'em sharp

Actually, I think that I have found clampacked Delicas there before. The Vapor is a great little knife. Solid, smooth, and easy to sharpen. Also check out the Buck 303,another great deal at Walmart.
