Hello Everyone,

Thank you in advance for listening to my little query here: I am left handed and I was wondering if the Vapor frame lock agreed with being used by a left hand, and if the thumb stud could be reversed/remade entirely. Can it be done? It looks like a great and economical folder, but I am rather skeptical about its non-ambidextrous physique. I probably will take off the (right-handed) clip anyway, so I think I may buy a sheath for it, so don't worry about that too much. Anyone had any experience with this folder? Is it operable left-handed? And, if no solution is possible, are there any friendly folders in the same price range that you can suggest?

Thanks,
Sicarius.

P.S. I heard a whisper somewhere that Ker. was coming out with ambi studs for the vapors...didnt hear when. Do you know anything about that?

I just tried and you are a much better man than me if you can unlock a Vapor II using only your left hand. The stud is not easily reversible because the hole it goes in is larger (countersunk) on the back side. Maybe you could get a set of ambi studs from a supplier that would work. Regarding the double studs as standard equipment, I read that rumor from many, many months ago, and still no sign of them. I wouldn't count on it.

Ambidextrous knives are made by Spyderco (Delica Lightweight-not too much more $) and the Benchmade Axis Lock series (more money). I would check Gerber, too- I'm not sure about reversible clips on Gerbers, but you are taking that off anyway.

If you really want a frame lock, I think you will have trouble finding a lefty that is more affordable than a Sebenza.
