This is my first post so please excuse any errors I will probably make. OK heres my question. My local Wal-Mart has both sizes of the kershaw Vapor knives(I&II). They are $20.00 to $25.00 each. This seems to me like a good buy. Anybody have any experinces with these models? Thank you in advance. Hey that was'nt so tough!!!!!

The Vapors are great buys for the money. But, i think that you should look for one that says made in Japan on it. IMO the made in China ones aren't as high in quality.

I have both Vapors and they are great knives. In fact I carry the small one very frequently, and when hiking or feeling a little more outdoorsy I usually carry the large one.

Mine were made in Japan (I bought them a while ago), but I imagine the Chinese ones are fine. (Although I haven't seen them). I had thought that only a 1000 of each of the Japanese ones were made...but I could be wrong. If I'm not I'd guess the Japanese ones would be hard to find.

One thing to remember is if you're left handed they can't be easily opened.

So go ahead and buy both!

I have a Vapor II made in Japan and it is my most used onehander. I have had it for a long time and have put it to hard use (use it around the barn, trim hoses and pvc pipes, open anything with it,scrape paint off of windows and trim...) and it still locks up solid, and is easy to maintain a good edge. Well worth owning and using.
