Kershaw Volt 3600 Composite or something else?

Hey all,

I might have a line on one of those hard to find Kershaw Volt 3600 Composite blades for $299. I've seen them sold round these parts and elsewhere for up around $450 so I'm thinking this is a good deal. My wife will kill me if I buy this but I figure it's a good investment at that pricepoint and something I would love to have in my diminutive collection. To this point, the most i've spent on any one knife is around $200 that I spent last week on the Spyderco Techno.

Can anyone think of a better way to spend $300 in terms of competitive blade options? I was wanting one of the fluted titanium natives when they come out or a fluted military. Definitely not room in the budget for more than one pricey blade.

Now is the Volt a blem..meaning having XXXX and no box or is it a BNIB knife..... if its new I'd say go for it, its a cool knife that i'd love to own,

THere was one that sat around at a local Brick and Mortar in my area that I would regularly go and drool over. I finally broke down and bought it for the full $299 retail. I have not regretted it.

I looked at the newer ZT 560, 561 and even the 550, as well as the Lion Spy, and the Volt was my top choice, even given the price difference.

It's just a beautiful knife that feels great in the hand. It's long, slim, and not bulky like some of the other choices. The only knife I would have considered as an alternate was the Buck TNT. With the M390 edge, though, this one still is tops.

Get it while you can. Just be sly about letting your wife know the cost, or justify it as you have been as an INVESTMENT.:D

Thanks for the "support" guys. I'm really on the fence to pull the trigger on this one. A few months back I snoozed and lost out on one of those ZT 0550 in Elmax that were mistakenly produced and I'm still kicking myself as it would have made a great collector piece.

I'm also wondering if maybe I ought to snag 2..one to keep, one to sell...if they have more than one in stock.

I would be a little weary of any online sources still have these in stock. As far as i know these have been Sold out everywere for quite some time.

I just bought one for a nice chunk of cheese. I'm just happy someone was willing to sell it to me. If I were you I'd jump on it for that price and if you're wife gets pissed, you can always sell it for a profit.

Id buy it for sure. Good find, if the wife gets pissed too bad. Its worth having a pissed wife to own that knife.

So my excitement for my find has been quashed. I was very hesitant to order online based on this knife being discontinued so long ago. I emailed the online retailer to inquire about it's stock status and sure enough they were unaware it had been discontinued. I really hate when online retailers can't get their sites working properly and up-to-date. In today's age there really is no excuse.
