I should have had these up yesterday but after waiting 6 months or so I missed the postman. Here are a few quick pictures of the Kershaw Volt 3600 in hand and a few first impressions.

First...this thing is wicked awesome, very cool, very excellent, and very much what I was hoping it would be. It feels awesome in hand, has a nice thick blade spine tapering down in a full flat grind to what looks to be an eminently useful edge. I love the blade profile, with perfect point, belly, and flat edge, and the blade-to-handle ratio is absolutely excellent. This thing has more blade than a millie but a smaller handle, extremely ergonomic, that fills a big hand without leaving extra. The handle profile is very sleek and you can hardly feel it in your pocket, almost like a BM 940, except with far more knife. It also features a Hinderer lock-stop and a super inconspicuous deep carry pocket clip. The flipper-only opening is smooth and solid with lots of wear available.

A couple of small criticisms that shouldn't affect utility at all are as follows. The washers are surprisingly small, almost like a BM 760 Lum, which surprises me given how much room there seems to be and how tough the rest of the knife is. Also, as another poster mentioned, the awesome clip does dig into the palm of your hand a little, although I don't think that is a big deal. Finally, mine has a tiny little bit of up-down play which I'm guessing must be because of the fit of blade to pivot. Side-to-side it is tight though, despite the small bushings.

Overall, so far, this thing gets top marks. It would have been nice to see a thumbstud-frame lockstop, as is done with the XM-18 and SNG/SMF designs, to make the knife extra tough through the pivot, but I don't think it will affect utility. Is it perfect? It sure is close. Top marks, minus one for the play, to Kershaw! Also, huge thanks to Kershawguy for working to get me one of the first of these out in the wild. Dave (Kershawguy) is a dealer on this site, has the best prices anywhere, and is absolutely fantastic to deal with. I couldn't possibly recommend him higher. This baby is definitely NOT for sale.:thumbup::thumbup:

Cheers, Jesse

Cool thanks!

Yeah, I can see what your talking about with the pocket clip. Inconspicuous, but I can see how it could be slightly uncomfortable. Ah well, small price for deep pocket carry and on such a cool knife. Congrats!:D:thumbup:

Cool knife, I totally forgot about this thing coming out. The clip would have to go but other than that I'm impressed.

That is one of the nicest Kershaws I have seen, I will have to get one when they become more available.

At only 275pcs made, it's gonna be hard to find any at all.
I will have my plethora in about an hour or so. :)

I need in pocket pictures. What I really need is mine!

What number did ya get Jesse?

I got #086! I really love it, very close to my definition of perfection. I would love to see a 3.5" blade version, still in the Ti framelock, but this one carries like a much smaller knife anyway so it doesn't really matter. At some point I will probably take a file to the butt-end top clip corner to help it seat into the hand better. Part of the problem is just that the clip corner is pretty sharp. Let me know what you think of yours when you get it Tony, cheers bud

I'm looking forward to adding both little brothers to the collection. Volt 2, and speedform 2 should not only be more accessible, but excellent knives in their own right for those who need smaller knives, or are more constrained by price.

I'll definitely let you know when it gets here as well as my impressions of it. It should be Friday or Saturday hopefully. The only thing is, as soon as it gets here and I get to fondle it and put it in my pocket my attention will atutomatically be turned toward when I will be receiving the Speedform. It's just in the knife knut's nature to do that I guess. Still, I'm excited to get this one.
