Looking to get a new folder around this price range. Which one would you prefer and why? I am not constrained by blade length limitations. Uses would be EDC and light cutting tasks, mostly. I have a line on the Volt so that shouldn't be an issue provided I don't wait too long.

It might default to the Benchmade 755 because the Volt toal production was only 250 approx. They had difficulties and stopped production.

You will be lucky to get a Volt if what I am hearing is correct.

THe volt is designed for light cutting imo, the 755 is a beastly little folder, designed like a Strider.

While the 755 is built like a tank, I don't think I would say the Volt is a light duty knife. It has a fairly thick blade (around .165" I think) and the pictures look like a fairly robust titanium frame lock. That is a thicker blade than most average folder so I think it should be able to handle most things a pocket knife is asked to do.

My thoughts too.
I've handled quite a few Volts over the past week and "heavy duty" comes to mind every time I open one.
The Ti framelock is seriously beefy. I'm not gonna baby it at all.
