I have a lot of knives from a lot of makers and been reading about Kershaw for a while. I guess I'm looking for an excuse to buy another so what model folder would you suggest I look at first? My EDC is BM monochrome or 705 before those various Spydies and a few Crkts so looking forward to getting to know a new maker.

Thanks,

Joe :D

Depends what you're looking for. I bought a rainbow chive for the simple reason that I wanted to try one of the assisted opening devices and I happened to like the coloured coating. Have a look at the chive or it's big brother the rainbow leek. Just a little different to the others out there.

I would recomend you try something from their KAI branch from Japan. Top notch steel. The LFK, if you want to start off small. You will definately be happy with how well these cut!

I have a Tactical Blur. I'm a huge fan of the blur, I love the thin profile, the blade isn't too thin, cuts well, and you can get a tanto if you want. The speedsafe is great too.

The Double Duty it's got a great blend of classical/gentleman/tactical folder features. As Knifeclerk pointed oyt the steel on this knife really does retain it's edge well.

The Rainbow Leek was my "official" entry into the business of knive collecting. I added the Rainbow Chive a day later. Now I have several more. It doesn't get any sharper or more elegant than the Leek.

Wow, Thanks for all the ideas. I start checking around today. The Bump Blur looks wild but I think I'll start with something cheaper and see how I like them first.

Thanks again have a great holiday,

Joe
